Central Ohio Network
Greetings from the International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation Central Ohio Network (ICON)! We are pleased that you are visiting our webpage. We originated nearly 15 years ago, shortly after the commencement of the International Organization. When our founding members began our network, they recognized the benefits of a professional association dedicated to enhancing the status and reputation of women in insolvency practice. ICON still seeks to further that mission today through our programs, events, meetings, and service projects. ICON has approximately 32 members, consisting of attorneys, legal assistants and paralegals, accountants, a judge, law clerks, academics, and law students. There is a range in age, gender, and years of experience in insolvency-related professions. Indeed, we encourage this diversity, realizing that each member has something unique to contribute to ICON. This diversity fosters a better environment for relationship-building, networking, professional and personal development, and informal mentoring. Through the years, we have implemented a variety of programs including a clothing drive for women seeking a fresh start and adopting a family during Christmas, which is usually done in conjunction with our annual holiday luncheon. We also have an annual cookout and have hosted law student receptions as well as luncheons during the Bankruptcy Law Institute, sponsored by the Columbus Bar Association. ICON has also begun wellness programming which includes a spa day and other stress relievers. Additionally, in April 2009, ICON will proudly host its second gala, Banca Rotta at the Conservatory Deux at the Franklin Park Conservatory in celebration of our 15-year anniversary. If you live or work in the Central Ohio area, please take time to attend one of our meetings to learn more about ICON and why IWIRC and ICON are crucial to your success. We would appreciate the opportunity to also learn more about you. If you are a member of one of IWIRC's other networks and are ever in the Columbus area, we encourage you to visit us.
