Professional Bio:

Deborah S. Grieve is a senior partner with Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Practising exclusively in corporate restructuring and insolvency matters for 25 years, she is one of few practitioners certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law.
She is a member of the international Board of IWIRC, and Chair of the Canadian Network.
Former chair of the insolvency law sections of each of the federal Canadian Bar Association and the provincial Ontario Bar Association, she writes and speaks regularly on all issues relating to restructuring and insolvency, including bankruptcy, business reorganizations, lender and priority issues, with a focus on cross-border matters. She recently represented IWIRC at the 39th Insolvency Working Group on cross-border insolvency issues of the United Nations Commission of International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
On March 31, 2011 Deborah was honoured to accept two IWIRC Founders Awards: individually, the Martha Fetner Award, for outstanding contribution at the international level, and, as part of the Canadian Network team, the Ryan Award, which recognizes the IWIRC Network which best exemplifies IWIRC objectives and values.
