Professional Bio:
Jan M. Hayden is a Shareholder in the New Orleans offices of Baker, Donelson, Bearman,Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC and concentrates her practice in the field of business reorganizations, workouts and bankruptcy. A graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1976 and a J.D. in 1979, she was a member of Order of the Coif and the Louisiana Law Review.
Ms. Hayden is active in the LSBA, having served two terms as the Chairperson of the Bankruptcy Section. For several years, she has served on the Continuing Legal Education Committee as co chair. She has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 1993. She was selected The Best Lawyer's 2012 New Orleans Bankruptcy Litigation Lawyer of theYear as well as The Best Lawyers’ 2010 New Orleans Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights Lawyer of the Year. She has also been listed as one of the Top Ten Lawyers in Louisiana Super Lawyers since 2007. Most recently, Ms. Hayden was selected by IWIRC as its Woman of the Year.
A Fellow with the American College of Bankruptcy and the Louisiana State Bar Foundation, she is frequent lecturer in her field. Ms. Hayden serves on the Board of The Pro Bono Project as well as as the vice chairperson of the Board of Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana. She is a new member of the board of the local TMA chapter. She was inducted into Louisiana State University Hall of Fame and received LSBA 2009 Pro Bono Publico Award.
