Professional Bio:
Klementina Pavlova joined Sands Anderson in 2018, following her clerkship for The Honorable Paul M. Black in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia. She brings a global perspective to the firm and has a strong background in secured transactions, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation. Klementina was honored with a Medal of Excellence from the American Bankruptcy Institute for her extensive work in bankruptcy law, while a student at the University of Richmond School of Law.
Klementina has lived and worked in London, The Hague, Beijing, Los Angeles, and New York, and speaks fluent Bulgarian. Klementina was introduced to bankruptcy law when she worked as a legal advisor for the Bulgarian Mission to the United Nations in New York. In that capacity she assisted in drafting and presenting amendments to the Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency. Her experience includes a wide variety of consumer cases and complex Chapter 11 business bankruptcies. She gained these experiences during her internship for the Honorable Kevin R. Huennekens and the Honorable Keith L. Phillips in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
Her practice involves advising debtors, distressed investors in acquisitions, out-of-court restructurings, and Chapter 11 cases. Klementina can assist you with adversary proceedings and contested matters, asset sales, claim objections, preference and fraudulent conveyance actions, plan confirmations, and secured lender claims. She can communicate complex ideas and develop a forward-thinking strategy to help you succeed and come out ahead.
