Professional Bio:

Ms. Watt is an Associate Director within the Alvarez & Marsal Cayman Islands office. She brings over ten years of experience in insolvency and restructuring.

At A&M, Ms. Watt has worked on and managed large and complex Cayman Islands provisional, official and voluntary liquidation matters, as well as restructuring and receivership engagements. Such engagements have exposed Ms. Watt to a variety of matters including jurisdictional and recognition issues, discovery processes and the formulation of successful litigation strategy in matters involving fraud and asset dissipation.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Watt was employed in the insolvency and restructuring team of a large accounting firm in Australia. During this time, Ms. Watt worked on numerous voluntary administrations, creditors’ voluntary liquidations, court liquidations, receivership engagements and independent business reviews.

Ms. Watt earned a bachelor’s degrees in commerce (finance) and economics from the University of Queensland and a postgraduate certificate in international insolvency law from INSOL International. She is a Chartered Accountant (CA) (Australia and New Zealand) and a professional (overseas) member of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association (RITP) in Australia having completed the postgraduate Advanced Certificate of Insolvency. Ms. Watt is also a member of INSOL International, the Cayman Islands’ RISA chapter, and the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants.
