Professional Bio:

Cassandra A. Sepanik represents creditors, debtors, and equity holders in complex corporate reorganizations and bankruptcy litigation. She has represented creditors in objecting to the adequacy of disclosure statements and confirmation of Chapter 11 plans of reorganization and parties involved in preference and fraudulent transfer avoidance actions.

In addition, she has experience advising on a range of bankruptcy and other insolvency-related issues, including lender liability litigation and the implications of seeking bankruptcy relief. She is licensed to practice in Texas and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas.

Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, Ms. Sepanik served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Nancy Johnson in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas in 2007. She served as a Legal Aid Volunteer for Lone Star Legal Aid in 2004.

Ms. Sepanik received her J.D., summa cum laude, from South Texas College of Law in 2009, where she served on the South Texas Law Review and was a Dean’s Scholar and Dean’s Merit Award recipient. She received her B.B.A. in Finance, cum laude, from Texas A&M University in 2006.

In addition to the IWIRC, Ms. Sepanik is actively involved in the Dallas Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, Turnaround Management Association, and National Association of Women’s Lawyers. She was a certified mediator from 2007-2009.
