Dear IWIRC Members and Friends of IWIRC,

IWIRC's founder, Selinda Melnik passed away on Monday, November 19 after battling cancer.   

A memorial service will be held at Congregation Beth Shalom in Wilmington, Delaware this Wednesday, November 21st at 2:00pm.  Immediately following the memorial service the family will return to the home of Justin Lavner & Sandra Garcia Bonilla.  Shiva will continue at this residence beginning at 7:00 PM.  Shiva will also be held at same residence on Saturday, November 24th at 7:00pm.

May Selinda's memory be a blessing and her family be comforted among the mourners in Zion.

From IWIRC friend, Kyriaki Karadelis, Editor, Global Restructuring Review, "Selinda was an active member of GRR's editorial board and was responsible for introducing me to IWIRC very early on in the magazine's lifespan. I credit her not only with cementing the great relationship we have between our organisations, but also for helping GRR to find its feet as a cross-border insolvency publication and to establish itself in what was already quite a busy market. Although I am but a mere journalist Selinda always treated me like a "woman in restructuring" - she sent me a pair of interesting restructuring stories about developments in India to follow up on, with a smiley face, just a couple of weeks ago."

Kyriaki is working on an obituary that we will forward to everyone when it is available.

On a personal note, I have known Selinda since I started working with IWIRC in 1996.  She was so very proud of IWIRC and considered the organization and its members as her "child" as she remarked to me on several occasions.  I am very sad at this news, but also would lift up her as an example as a life well led by creating an incredible legacy of "connecting women worldwide".
