IWIRC Announces 2020 Rising Star Award Semi-Finalists
Stanardsville, VA - September 24, 2020 - The International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), the premier international, networking and professional growth organization for women in the restructuring and insolvency industries, is pleased to announce the 2020 semi-finalists for its 10th Annual Rising Star Award. The five semi-finalists are:
Isabel Arana de Uriarte is a Senior Vice President at AlixPartners, New York and has been a member of IWIRC since 2017. She currently is the Sponsorship and Membership Chair for the New York Network and formerly was the Communications Co-Chair for the Chicago Network. "Isabel has tirelessly supported IWIRC's mission by sourcing new sponsors and making current sponsors feel engaged. She has supported IWIRC with her personal investment in the NY network's membership as well as promoting IWIRC in her firm to junior colleagues."
Veronica Chan is a Solicitor at Tanner DeWitt, Hong Kong and has been a member of IWIRC since 2015. She is currently Co-Chair of the Hong Kong Network and has served as Vice-Chair of the Network. "In addition to the many high profile events she has helped organize in Hong Kong including Quiz Night, Black Tie Dinner, and events in Cantonese, she has always been conscious of collaborating with the wider IWIRC organization and the benefits this brings to our Hong Kong members and vice versa."
Elizabeth Tramm Dechant is an Associate at Roberts & Stevens, Ashville, North Carolina and has been a member of IWIRC since 2017. She is a current member of the Carolinas Network and previously participated in the Chicago and Georgia Networks. "She has been invaluable to the Carolinas Network, where she worked tirelessly to coordinate the inaugural regional event 'IWIRC in the Blue Ridge.' She coordinated hotels, seminar space, and dinners-but for COVID, the seminar would have gone off without a hitch thanks to Liz!"
Beatriz Faneca is a Partner with Faneca Advogados, Sao Paulo and has been a member of IWIRC since 2018. She is the Founder and current Chair of the Brazil Network. "Bea has inspired the undertakings of the Brazil Network since its inception. She is keen to ask questions, open to advice and has encouraged involvement from members from different states in Brazil."
Nyana Miller is an Associate with Sequor Law, Miami and has been a member of IWIRC since 2018. She is currently on the IWIRC Board of Directors as the South America Regional Director. "Nyana has been amazing recruiting members for IWIRC, especially in Latin America, and moreover creating a bond with the members in Brazil and Latin America. She has inspired us and has created a diverse group of lawyers of difference ages from Central America, South America and Mexico."
The IWIRC Rising Star Award is bestowed upon an IWIRC member with 8 or fewer years of experience in her respective field who has made considerable contributions to her professional success and displayed a high-level of commitment to advancing IWIRC's mission-enhancing the professional status of women in the insolvency and restructuring profession-at the local, national and/or international levels.
