January 28, 2021, Stanardsville, VA -The International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring
Confederation (IWIRC) and the International Insolvency Institute (III) have joined together to host
and sponsor, Women at the Forefront of International Insolvency Symposium. A first of its kind, the
Symposium will feature 35 women who are experts in insolvency law from 20 different countries.
Judges, academics, attorneys and financial advisors have come together for this unique and engaging
program. The program is open to all those interested in the topics being presented.
The Symposium will consist of 6 substantive panels during the week of March 1- March 5. In honor of
International Women's Day, the Symposium culminates with a very special leadership panel featuring
seven women who are current or immediate past chairs of leading insolvency organizations. IWIRC and
III are pleased to provide a platform for these women to share their knowledge and experiences. The
panelists include Leyza Blanco, IWIRC Chair, Sequor Law ; Debra Grassgreen
III President, Pachulski, Stang, Ziehl & Jones LLP; Julie Hertzberg, INSOL International President,
Alvarez & Marsal ; Hon. Barbara Houser, ABI President
U.S. Bankruptcy Court; Hon. Laurel Isicoff, NCBJ Immediate Past Chair, U.S. Bankruptcy Court;
Melissa Kibler, American College of Bankruptcy President, Mackinac Partners,LLC and Piya Mukherjee,
INSOL Europe Immediate Past President, Horten.
This program highlights the depth and breadth of the knowledge of women in the insolvency industry.

All proceeds of the $50 admission fee (complimentary for judges, academics and press) will be
donated on behalf of IWIRC and III to a global organization that focuses on improving the lives of
women around the world.
