Professional Bio:

Rosa María Rojas Vértiz C. is a Mexican attorney with expertise in financing, secured transactions and insolvency. She has a full perspective of insolvency, as she has dealt with insolvency cases as a transactional lawyer, from the judicial branch where she issued opinions and drafted judgments, and from the academia, as she is a part-time teacher and researcher. Rosa advises individuals, corporations and financial entities in insolvency and finance matters and does selective litigation. Rosa participated on 2021 as expert on the research project on corporate debt restructuring around the world undertaken by the World Bank Group, INSOL International and the International Association of Insolvency Regulators (IAIR). Rosa has participated as speaker on insolvency issues in Mexico, New York, Tokyo, London, Spain, Colombia, Brazil, Peru and Ecuador. She is a member of the Mexican Bar Association and of ANADE. She is Coordinator in Mexico of the Ibero-American Institute for Law and Finance. She is also member of the International Insolvency Institute, of the American Bankruptcy Institute and of INSOL International. She is part-time Professor of Property Law, Credit and Secured Transactions at ITAM (Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México), has a PhD from the Institute of Legal Research of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (IJJ-UNAM), and was a chevening scholar at The London School of Economics and Political Science, where she accomplished an LL.M. on Corporate and Commercial Law. Rosa is also certified in Amparo proceedings by Universidad Panamericana (UP).
