IWIRC-FLORIDA has much to celebrate! The IWIRC Florida Board is pleased to announce that IWIRC has selected The Honorable Karen S. Jennemann as its Woman of the Year in Restructuring and has also selected our IWIRC Florida Network as the 2020 recipient of the IWIRC Ryan Award for Outstanding IWIRC Network. The 2020 Woman of the Year in Restructuring- Now in its 14th year, the WOYR award was conceived to honor women in the restructuring and insolvency industry who have shown exceptional leadership and have made extraordinary and lasting contributions to the insolvency and restructuring profession. IWIRC Florida is grateful for this opportunity to recognize the many and lasting contributions that Judge Jennemann has made to the insolvency practice. To quote Judge Arthur Briskman, "Judge Jennemann is an icon to many as the first female Bankruptcy Judge and Chief Bankruptcy Judge in Florida. She is a mentor to her law clerks, but also helps and inspires many young lawyers throughout the country." Congratulations to Judge Jennemann on receiving this well-deserved honor.

The Ryan Award for Outstanding IWIRC Network is awarded to the IWIRC Network that best exemplified IWIRC in the past calendar year. IWIRC stated the following in connection with announcing the Florida Network as the 2020 recipient of the Ryan Award for Outstanding IWIRC Network: “The Florida Network ‘exemplified IWIRC exceptionally well in the past calendar year, with innovations, systems and programs designed to further IWIRC's mission of being the premier networking organization devoted to enhancing the professional status of women in insolvency and restructuring. We cultivated leadership and strengthened our Network through innovations to our network board of directors, fostered the growth of our members and celebrated their successes through our Excellence Awards and other initiatives, and promoted IWIRC, increased our membership and connected women through fantastic events,’ states Leanne Prendergast, Florida Network Board Chair.
