Professional Bio:

Alexandra CC Schnapp (known by all as “CC”) lives in Atlanta, Georgia where she has served as law clerk to Hon. Wendy Hagenau, Bankruptcy Judge for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia, from 2018-2024, and for Hon. C. Ray Mullins from 2011-2018. Through her time at the Court, she encountered a wide array of consumer and business bankruptcy matters. She received her JD from Emory University School of Law, where she was the Executive Administrative Editor of the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal and interned for Hon. Mary Grace Diehl at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Before pursuing law, CC gained valuable experience as a litigation legal assistant at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York. She graduated from Middlebury College, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies.

CC has been an active member of the legal community, having served as Chair of the Bench and Bar Committee of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia (2016-2023), Chair of the Atlanta Bar Association Bankruptcy Section (2023-2024), Chair of the IWIRC Georgia Network (2015-2016) and member of the International Board of Directors of IWIRC (2018-2021), and Chair of the ABI Ethics and Professional Compensation Committee (2019-21). She also served as coordinator for the Atlanta Credit Abuse Resistance Education (CARE) program (for which she received the inaugural CARE Program Chapter of the Year Award for coordinating the Atlanta Chapter), and an adviser for the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal Notes and Comments Advisory Committee. She participated in the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges’ NextGen Program in 2017, and she was recognized as an IWIRC Rising Star Semifinalist in 2016 and as one of ABI’s 40 Under 40 honorees in 2019.

CC is an avid reader and has channeled her love of literature into being a member of the Everybody Wins! Atlanta Board of Directors and reading mentor. She and her family love to travel the globe and explore the National Parks. While not on the working or on the go, she enjoys paddle boarding, baking, coffee, and biking with her two sons and husband.
