The Georgia Network celebration of IWIRC's 30th Anniversary event was held on April 27, 2023, at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. All members received an IWIRC 30th Anniversary t-shirt upon entry to the Gardens and would have the opportunity to take a self-guided tour of the Gardens during the first hour.
The second hour was a health and wellness CLE presented by Dr. Timothy Schlairet. Prior to the CLE, Megan Brown from Friends of Refugees gave a presentation on the organization's mission to support refugees and new Americans settling in the metro area. Members could donate to Friends of Refugees via an Amazon wish list at and after the event. Dr. Schlairet’s presentation covered work related burn-out and how to prevent emotional drain. There was a Q&A session at the end and a cocktail hour and networking and champagne toast.
The event was a lively, community building affair. The members particularly enjoyed the wellness CLE and the Q&A offered multiple hard-hitting questions that seemed to resonate with many in the group. The self-guided tour at the beginning of the event was a nice way for members to connect while exploring the Gardens.
