With offices in Bloomfield Hills, MI and Austin, TX, Mackinac Partners has recently opened a third office in Southern California.  Mackinac Partners is a sponsor of Michigan Network of IWIRC ("MIWIRC"), and Susan Gordon, a Managing Director of Mackinac Partners, is a long time IWIRC member and board member of MIWIRC.

Mackinac Partners’ expansion into the western United States is largely related to its market focus on distressed and underperforming real estate related assets as well as the company’s continued growth in its restructuring, turnaround, bankruptcy advisory, and asset management activities in the region. Mackinac has served a broad spectrum of real estate clients including hospitality, commercial, industrial, and single-family and multi-family real estate entities. Mackinac Partners is currently advising clients throughout the United States, Europe and Mexico.

The California Office is led by Ron Rakunas and Nishant Machado. Mr. Rakunas, a Managing Director with Mackinac Partners and a Principal with Mackinac Realty Capital Management, has over twenty years of direct commercial and residential real estate development and investment experience, including working with several Fortune 500 real estate companies and providing M&A, restructuring, turnaround and bankruptcy advisory services. Most recently, Mr. Rakunas has been directly involved in the restructuring and asset management of a senior secured lender with a $690 million portfolio of REO properties and non-performing loans located throughout the western United States. Nishant Machado, a Managing Director at Mackinac Partners, has vast restructuring and turnaround experience within multiple industries and has successfully represented companies in and out of bankruptcy in addition to managing complex M&A transactions. Mr. Machado has worked extensively within the vacation ownership industry and most recently served as the interim COO for a privately owned developer and operator of luxury vacation ownership properties in the United States and Mexico.

Mackinac Partners provides restructuring and turnaround advisory services to a wide-range of middle market companies, with annual revenues ranging from $30 million to over $1 billion. The firm frequently fills management positions with client companies, regularly assuming C-level positions including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Restructuring Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
