Professional Bio:

Gemma is a senior associate at Pinsent Masons LLP who specialises in insolvency litigation and complex personal insolvency. She has experience in fraud investigations and claims on behalf of insolvency practitioners and financial institutions arising out of breaches of statutory duties. Gemma has carved out a niche in recoveries and restructuring advice in the receivables finance industry. A key example of her work this year included advising one of the leading invoice finance providers and the administrators of the borrower in respect of a major fraud on an invoice discounting facility. This also included advice as to claims against the directors, third parties and conspirators with a view to maximising realisations where the sales ledger had a clear shortfall. Further examples of Gemma’s work include advising the liquidators of a sponsoring employer of a scheme in respect of a pensions liberation fraud and the appointment of provisional liquidators over associated companies. Gemma is a regular speaker at insolvency and ABL conferences and has recently joined R3’s Personal Insolvency Committee
